We are the Dawoodi Bohra community of North Carolina, a vibrant group of around 35 families rooted in the Raleigh-Durham area. With origins in West India, our community reflects the diversity and energy of this region. North Carolina has become a second home, offering opportunities to grow, learn, and contribute to society while staying connected to our faith and values.
The members of our community are actively engaged in fields that align with the strengths of the Research Triangle Park. You’ll find us working in healthcare, information technology, government, operations, and construction. Many families have relocated here for academic pursuits, given the area’s reputation for world-class universities and research institutions. We are proud that 100% of our students pursue higher education, continuing our tradition of valuing knowledge and personal growth.
Since 2002, the Dawoodi Bohra community of North Carolina has grown into a close-knit group, united by shared traditions, a love for learning, and a commitment to service. Our members contribute not only through their professional achievements but also by making a positive impact on the local community.
Education is at the heart of everything we do. Every student in our community pursues higher education, with many going on to build careers in medicine, technology, government, and other fields. The universities in the region have drawn families from all over the world, and many of our members continue to engage in lifelong learning, reflecting our values of self-improvement and intellectual development.
Service and community engagement are equally important to us. Our members regularly volunteer with local food banks and organizations supporting children and families in need. Through these efforts, we aim to embody our values and strengthen the bonds between ourselves and the broader North Carolina community.
Looking toward the future, we are excited about the upcoming completion of our new Markaz in 2025. This community center will serve as a hub for prayers, gatherings, and celebrations, bringing together families and visitors in an environment rooted in faith and fellowship. Located in Raleigh, the Markaz will provide a space where we can nurture spiritual growth, host communal events, and welcome neighbors and friends.
